Esther Jackson Elementary

Volunteer Curriculum Instructor (VCI): Gene Gannon
Born and raised in the Bronx, I relocated to metro Atlanta for a better quality of life. I then retired from Prudential Insurance and sought volunteer opportunities, which landed me in Habitat for Humanity, Knights of Columbus, and the Men’s Club through my church. During the pandemic shutdown I stumbled upon Toolbox’s website and took the challenge to be an instructor for the fifth graders at Esther Jackson Elementary School in Roswell.
My motto: don’t leave others helpless, rather help others, so they can be helpful to others. Each day brings unlimited opportunities for us to help others in many different ways. It is our option to be a taker or a giver.
When you give, you will receive, it’s a win-win situation for all. A life without giving is like a life without sunshine. Only we, ourselves can make a difference.
