Volunteer Curriculum Instructor (VCI): Dave Dupart
I’m a former Payroll applications programmer who is happily married, has two grown daughters and seven grandkids. I learned construction skills while growing up helping my father with various building projects around the house, and through drafting and shop classes in high school. Some of the past projects I’ve worked on include building a garage, garden shed, pergola, and multiple Habitat for Humanity houses. Smaller woodworking projects I’ve built include a plantation style sugar chest, my daughter’s dresser, my grandson’s Jeep Bed, multiple tables, Adirondack chairs, child size church furniture and props for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd programs at two different churches and multiple bird houses.
When I retired in 2022, I needed an outlet for my creative side and went looking for volunteer activities. I heard about the Young Apprentice Construction Club program from a fellow parishioner at my church, and after looking into it decided to volunteer. After the first semester I was asked to co-lead the class for the 2nd semester. I enjoy working with the students and passing on my knowledge to the next generation of builders and creators.
